Day 2
it's about 8:30pm and the temp is 5o, which is what it has been all day long. it pretty chilly in the mornings, but about noon it warms up and stays that temp until later evening. don't think i'll get used to the fact that it's as light out now as it is at 7am. throws my time off big time. the day seemed to go by rather quickly. this morning i was told i get the duty of cleaning dog poo out of the yard. ok - i do that at home, no big deal, however, it hadn't been cleaned since october (b cuz of winter), and there are at least 2 dogs here constantly. it was grand. i then was somewhat taught (a very brief instruction) on how to use the chainsaw. that won't be happening b cuz the only safety feature on it is broken. so if it kicks back, it won't automatically shut off and you pray that you're strong enough to hold the saw. i then tossed logs. never done that b4 and it's actually harder than it sounds, or heavier than it sounds. because most of the gear is stored in a bus, yes a bus. i know, good lord. but whatever, i had a chore of separating the camp food (dehydrated) into hydro bags, or dry bags. these will be flown into the camps in a couple weeks once the snow in the mtns melts. i also cleaned out containers and labeled new ones filled with gear, first aid kits, etc. today i also had a lesson on driving stick, think i did ok. at least the boss thought so. we made a trip to the dump which is the grossest thing i've seriously ever seen in my life. these people are insane. no care for the environment. it really sucks how they treat the land. people in the lower 48 really have no idea what these villages are really like. trashy, trashy, trashy. and the ravens at the dump are the biggest i've seen anywhere, and it's illegal to shoot them - some mojo/spirit thing. so, that was my day. also tried moose yest and today - it's excellent. there is caribou thawing in the fridge which nat is fixing tomorrow. maybe it tastes like chicken? ha.

Well kid,
what's it like to use muscles you never knew you had?
Dog logs, huh?
So much for a pristene environment.
Avoid the chain saw at all cost.
Good luck with the stick shift and look out for the trees.
