3 a.m.
at 3 a.m. this morning, there was a knock at the door. then again louder, and then again even louder...the dogs started barking, and rob went to the door to see who on earth was at the door that time of night. it was a local gal who is about 16. she was walking home and was cold and asked if she could come in and warm up. obv he said no and told her to go home. this girl has a brain tumor that came back after surgery. she has some mental problems along with abuse and neglect. apparently people have tried to befriend this girl and invite her into their homes, then she steals from them. kind of a lost cause in a place like this. today was the boss' birthday, so nat made his fav foods which included choco chip pancakes, mac & cheese with bacon, burgers, fries and choco cupcakes with choco frosting. he eats more chocolate than any woman i've ever met. i also made a rhubarb crumble...it's all gone already. the crew changed out today...as the people who have had the last 10 days off are back and the others left this morning. today i burned brush, dug more post holes, general pick up, & went to town. i got to go on another helicopter ride with a new pilot that was visiting but will be here with the next group later in the month. it was fun. and so pretty up there. this evening i gave taylors wife angela a massage. in return i get some guitar lessons. i ended up staying there and chatting for a while and angela served pb choco bars - yummy! it was a very nice conversation. they are wonderful people and easy to talk too. i hope to get to know them better - very good, religious, honest people. weather was nice...not much sun but bright and about 50 with no wind. a fair day.
