monday

today bill quimby arrived. he's a retired professor from montana..nice guy. was rainy this a.m. but got nice this afternoon and evening. tried to go on a walk but the mosquitos were non-stop. kathryn, one of the crew had this stuff called maxi-deet. it's 98.11% deet and it works. don't even want to think about what it's doing to my body, but i really don't care as long as it keeps the bugs from eating me alive. even with long socks, carharts and tall rubber boots, they somehow managed to get in there and bite up my legs. really so annoying...you kansans have no idea. seriously. cleared brush from yesterdays work, tilled the garden for weeds, general yard work. i've decided i'm basically a gardener. i'm okay with that. noticed that my carrots, lettuce started growing. the radishes are doing the best, also some broccoli. the inside tomatoes grow at least a 1/2 in a day...doing awesome! went to yoga...i guess i'll be starting to teach aerobics next monday. only 3 people interested, but thats ok! less pressure on me. pretty good day and a nice evening.
