work

actually got to work somewhat alone today..or at least it seems that way when listening to my ipod. what a difference it makes in my work. got the garden all done..looks great. shouldn't be one single weed in there. planted potatoes..a bit late, but i'm told they should still grow. sprayed round-up and i swear at least half ended up on my back and booty. i was leaning over to avoid a tree and all of a sudden i felt a whole lot of cold water going down my back. i'm sure i won't have any hair grow in that area for awhile...not sure what round-up does to the skin, but i'm sure i don't want to know either. we all spent a lot of time getting ready for fish alaska tomorrow. nat spent all day in the kitchen with laurie. laurie is the wife of greg, who owns midnight sun trophy pike adventures. she's hilarious. a great woman to know. 2 big wigs from barrick gold showed up today as well to check out the facility that they had the group at. one guy was the head geologist for barrick and the other was the manager of the entire exploration up here. the boss was out flying at the time, so i gave them a tour and chatted them up for awhile. they told me they thought that the crew had been quite comfortable here. good to hear. really nice guys they were. i also got another shipment from fsa, got 2 orders fo grapefruit, oranges, tofu, rice, and a pineapple. such a small thing to make my day...but food that's not readily available in the bush.
