this morning we had a group of 3 come in from a float. they are friends of a friend and in return for a discount float, they agreed to help clean all their gear. kinda cool to watch someone else do your job. the new zealand guys left this morning as well.
another gorgeous day. got to about 70 or so and sunny all day. super weather. this afternoon louie and i loaded the truck with wood and unloaded it on a plane headed for robs camp. robs cousins that have been caribou hunting also came in today a couple days early as they weren't seeing anything out there. still pretty early in the season though.
realized today that i will miss the aniak fair this month. this is a bigger fair than on the 4th of july. they have fireworks, a dog show, booths, etc. apparently people from other villages come even to sell their goods...and donlin is putting on a bbq one of the evenings for the village. really disappointed i will be missing this as i've looked forward to it since i first got here. for those of you who don't know, i have my first break in 3 months next week. i will be flying back to ks for a wedding...am looking forward to that though...but not the heat. esp since its double what the avg temp is here.
