ramp rat

this is the title you receive once you have mastered all the steps dealing with the planes. this ranges from learning how to tie the specific knots to tie the plane down, to refueling in btw runs. of all of these steps there was just one i still had trouble with, and it's only done on the maule, but today i got it finally without assistance. so, after 3 months, i finally earned the title "ramp rat". this is a good thing. i smiled. this morning i helped nat prepare for the large group arriving tomorrow. the newmont crew arrives with 10, and a fishing group of 5 also arrive. busy week here for these guys...too bad i won't be here to help! ha. actually i do feel bad, because i know exactly what they will be going through, and it's really, really tough by yourself. this afternoon we had to pick up fish and game, so all afternoon i was running back and forth to the airport while trying to finish up last minute details here before my plane leaves in 45 minutes!!! already checked my bag and returned to the lodge to wait the hr. the airport is quite boring. anyway, this will be my last entry until i return on monday as i will be in ks until then. and since this is a blog about alaska, it just doesn't seem fitting to write about ks happenings. til then...
