just another week

didn't write last night because we worked until 10:30...long day. and another one today. anything that happened yesterday has already left my brain...today we had a group leave for a 20 day hunt, and this is our second one out that will be gone that long. the newmont crew left today as well..so we have a night without guests, although all that meant is more work later in the evening. marie and i cleaned bunkhouses all day long. we had to scrub each one from top to bottom and wash 10 sets of sheets, towels and comforters...still in the process. all this plus getting gear ready for tomorrow, answering emails, phone calls , etc. a couple of things have happened to prove yet again what a jerk i'm working for. the big one is that yesterday the boss actually said to 2 guests (with me standing there) that louie has add (attention deficit). he said this because the hunters wanted to sight in their guns and lou would be the best choice to take them since he has add and needs a break from work every once in a while. the sad part is, is he was completely serious. of course lou doesn't have this and for his boss to tell 2 guests that....is just unbelievable. another thing that happened is that we had a guest come in from colorado for a hunt and he was under the impression that we sold hunting licenses here...which we do...however, rob told this guy when he was sitting at the dining table that we didn't have any and that he would have to go back to anchorage and buy them. all the while, we have a stack of them upstairs. so off this guy goes to anchorage and back (and another $700) later he's back at the lodge waiting to go out and hunt. rob doesn't like this guy at all, and just wanted him out of his hair so he lied to this guy and made him spend $700 to go to anchorage to buy hunting tags...you get the picture. and so these are a few reasons i'm thrilled that 3 wks from thursday, i'll be home!
